Body & Somatic

Though we often think of the brain when we consider mental health, the body is involved in determining how well you feel psychologically. Somatic therapy practices, or those dealing with the body, are necessary to consider when treating your mental health. We each have an autonomic nervous system regulating our involuntary physiologic processes to include digestion, blood pressure, sexual arousal, and heart rate. Increasing comfort and control of your bodily experience will support optimal mental health functioning.
